The Botanici return to the Covo Club to present their third, self-titled album, released by Garrincha Dischi / Sony Music last December 8th. Defined by the band as the most sincere of their works, as told by the band it is a representative album of their evolution: “The title of our third album is the name of this band. We decided to call it that because it is our most sincere album to date, which we feel is more representative of what we have become in recent years. The tracks that compose it are the result of a process of experimentation and evolution that has influenced our writing style in a natural way, giving space to a sonic and textual variety of which we are proud. We’ll tell you about this album in a few lines.
For the first time we participated personally in the studio production. The instruments used are usually guitars, bass and drums and (although to a lesser extent) piano, but in addition synthesizers are present almost everywhere, mostly to be understood as ambient instruments rather than solo instruments. The song “Øens Have” contains a trumpet solo (Giovanni Tamburini). The choice was, as usual, to keep the guitars as the protagonist instruments. Processing times were deliberately extended so as to always be able to think with a calm mind about the state of production; also thanks to a certain amount of perfectionism in us.
I tempi di lavorazione sono stati volutamente dilatati di modo da poter ragionare sempre a mente calma sullo stato della produzione; complice anche una certa quantità di perfezionismo in noi. The textual part of the songs always arises spontaneously from a single. Sometimes it is the music itself that inspires, other times it is the opposite. The collective idea is to respect the writer’s narrative as much as possible, in order to create something spontaneous and authentic.
Being a band without a common location, the music most often originates in a bedroom, from those of us who are most inspired at a given moment. It is therefore natural that each song reflects the compositional style of whoever gave it its genesis (songs like “Grandina” and “Distratto” are certainly part of this category). This side of the creative process is the one that most impacts the stylistic diversity of this album. Then there are songs that arise instinctively, when we are playing together (“Diverso/Uguale”, “Un posto bello”). The common denominator can then be found in the rehearsal room or studio; in this sense we are all actively involved in the composition.
The sum of these elements therefore culminates in a work that for us is difficult to identify with a single, well-defined musical genre. However, the presence of influences from the world of math and post-rock, jazz, songwriting and emo, and sometimes even progressive metal, is undoubted.
The creation of this album is a very significant part of our lives. We are convinced that we have managed to channel many of our most important experiences into the songs you are about to listen to. We are very happy to share it with you.”

IF YOU ARRIVE BY CAR...

In this period (and for a long time) it is possible that in this area there'll be construction work that limit the availability of parking spots nearby. If you cannot find a parking space in viale Zagabria, we recommend looking in the following streets: Kharkov, della Campagna, Francoforte, Machiavelli.
