TAISTOI

“Vibrisse” is the first album by Taistoi, a young talent who answers to the name of Andrea Esposito, already author of the EP “Portamento” (2022).

The album, produced by Bruno Germano (already working with Iosonouncane, Daniela Pes, Giardini di Mirò), is a journey through an eclectic and richly experimental sound world, where trip hop and dream pop keyboards intersect with shoegaze guitars and basses that create a dark atmosphere, while 1970s-style drums and Italian singer-songwriter vocals

(The Giants, The Crows, The Rebels) light up the darkness like cats’ eyes at night.

Vibrissae are the tactile extensions of some mammals, first and foremost cats.

A quintessential nocturnal animal, elegant and sly, the cat seems not to give a damn about its surroundings, but is always alert and ready to pick up on danger.

CÓLGATE

It is spelled cólgate, but it reads Marta, Giulio, Matteo and Andrea, united by a common passion for shoegaze, new-wave and alt rock. If you pronounce it, you do it by singing, playing and ranting about the sad failure of magic under the weight of boredom, the hand you mistake for a caress when it is actually a slap. The cólgates are the province and its ridiculous pomposity, the metropolis and its progress. In the background, in a rapid rush of images: the rain, the concrete, his smile, the bar and the stars, in the warm embrace of emo-gaze and Italian alternative rock.

The music of the còlgates can be described as the impatient anticipation felt in the moments before something surprising happens, the moment before airplanes take off, the night before a school trip, expressing a puerile and sincere agitation. In the lyrics, events that characterize the everyday life of the province take on the structure of actual ritual acts, opening the listener to a dimension of magical realism.

Exactly like Taistoi: “His being very unobtrusive, almost imperceptible, makes him an excellent observer, and I see myself in his thin eyes framed by long vibrissae.”

And it is precisely the imperceptible that a storyteller should tell: the imperceptible is obscure to the eyes of those who cannot look and silent to those who are not listening.

IF YOU ARRIVE BY CAR...

In this period (and for a long time) it is possible that in this area there'll be construction work that limit the availability of parking spots nearby. If you cannot find a parking space in viale Zagabria, we recommend looking in the following streets: Kharkov, della Campagna, Francoforte, Machiavelli.
