Escalate – Intensify, increase rapidly, make something more serious or bigger. A statement of purpose, a reflection of everything around us.
So goes the title-and the inherent energy it carries-of the overwhelming debut album by VLURE, from Glasgow, scheduled for release Sept. 26.
In April, the quintet-Hamish Hutcheson, Alex Pearson, Conor Goldie, Niall Goldie and Carlo Kriekaard-released their first unreleased track in over a year: “Better Days,” now unveiled as the first taste of the highly anticipated debut album. Co-produced by Conor Goldie and Manni Dee (former collaborator of Daniel Avery and HAAi) and featuring feat. by Bobby Gillespie, PSweatpants and Gaïa, Escalate is a 13-track collection that proudly and unflinchingly represents the present sound of their hometown, Glasgow.
The strong emotions and contradictions of Glasgow-its daily life, nighttime and after-hours-are the pulse and heartbeat of Escalate.
Fueled by their distinctive and intense combination of electronics (hybrid, between digital and analog, with use of Logic/Ableton) and live instruments (drums and guitars), band member and producer Conor Goldie, along with acclaimed techno/club artist Manni Dee, carry on the band’s reputation as one of the most dynamic sounds in young Scotland. Or, in the almost mantra-like words of the album’s overwhelming opening track, “take it or leave it, VLURE wants the buzz.”
“It’s for Glasgow. It’s for you and your friends. It’s for every crazy night and every moment when time stood still. Hold on to it. Make it grow.”
During the weekend there the new night lines are available, to move around Bologna and its surroundings throughout the night (with departures every half hour!).
Get on board the N3 line and arrive at Covo (and go home!) whenever you want, wherever you live.
In this period (and for a long time) it is possible that in this area there'll be construction work that limit the availability of parking spots nearby. If you cannot find a parking space in viale Zagabria, we recommend looking in the following streets: Kharkov, della Campagna, Francoforte, Machiavelli.
