Sports, a band from Oklahoma, were born from the friendship between Christian Theriot and Cale Chronister, two musicians who met as children and formed an almost instinctive bond.
After achieving massive viral success, they released three highly acclaimed albums, each one distilling their distinctive elixir of indie pop.
With their new self-titled record, the duo returns to their roots—self-produced and self-recorded, it captures the sound of two people deeply in sync, making music that truly moves them.

Provincial heroes ready to conquer the world, Sports credit their mindset to Tulsa, their hometown.
Far from the bright lights of Los Angeles or New York, they had to work hard to make their mark.
“The odds of us meeting, having the same interests, forming a band, and actually turning it into a career… it’s like—how did that even happen?” Christian marvels.

Sports hit the mark right from the start: their debut single “You Are The Right One” became a generational indie-pop anthem, with nearly 180 million streams on Spotify alone. The song has since become their trademark—a fan favorite and a solid financial foundation.
“I think what’s kept us going is the fact that we’ve never stopped,” explains Cale. “We just keep moving, keep putting music out.”

After three albums made with producer Chad Copelin, Sports decided to take back the reins. Choosing self-production, they found a space in their hometown of Tulsa and transformed it into their own personal studio.
“We’ve always had the same experience with all our records,” says Christian, “where the producer was holding our hand. But this time, we wanted a different kind of challenge.”

While building the studio from scratch, the band fell in love with the artificial turf from a local sports field—so much that they decided to install it as carpet.
“We’re literally obsessed with it!” laughs Cale. “It’s amazing to walk into a studio and see grass. Sure, it was fake—but we got to touch grass every day!”

Ten years after their first big success, the Oklahoma band has found a way to honor their past while looking toward the future.
“It’s surreal to have that number ten attached to the band,” laughs Christian. “It’s hard to wrap my head around it… it makes me feel old, I guess.”

At the heart of it all remains the friendship between Christian and Cale, and the endless possibilities they continue to find in each other.
“We’ve known each other since middle school,” reflects Cale, “and we’re still here. For me, this is only the beginning.”
