“Stanzini Can Be Allright” is a tribute to the nearly namesake track by the Gizmos, Midwest Can Be Allright. “The logo, too, is a reinterpretation of one of their lesser-known ones.”

Can growing up in the Po Valley resemble, in some way, the experience of the American Midwest? Perhaps yes, perhaps no — it’s hard to say. But we, Bee Bee Sea, saw something in that parallel. It’s from this conviction that everything was born.

The idea of coming from an isolated place — with cold, foggy winters and scorching summers, far from major cultural and economic centers — doesn’t sound particularly glamorous. And yet the Gizmos managed to turn that desolation into something ironic and authentic — a true bond with their roots. In our own way — perhaps even unconsciously at first — we let ourselves be inspired by all of this.

And Stanzini is exactly that: a parallel universe, a creative force born to fill what was missing for a kid from the provinces. From a garage-turned-rehearsal-room, Stanzini took shape — a musical collective that creates and develops projects far from the spotlight and the excitement of big cities.

The album contains 12 tracks that tell the stories of these people and these places. If the Gizmos inspired us in spirit, Stanzini Can Be Allright goes far beyond them on a musical level. It’s still garage rock, but it opens up to different influences, with a strongly personal style rich in nuance.

You’ll find traces of egg punk, but also nods to Guided By Voices, with echoes of Sweeping Promises and The Cleaners from Venus. There are plenty of melodies, lots of riffs. It’s a diary of life experiences in a place that may not be extraordinary, but that, all things considered, “can be all right” when you decide to change it.

And music, in the end, can change many things.
