Umarell is the project of Martin Giovannella, a musician and producer from Bologna, born in 2005.
The project was born in 2023 with the release of the first album, CANTIERE, released in May. Its roots are varied, but it finds common ground in electronica, indie, alternative music, and trap, with influences from grime, drum and bass, and trip-hop, all characterized by a strong indie sleaze identity.
1000% is an album that captures the exact moment when you stop being a child without yet feeling like an adult. It’s a work shaped by grief, anger, irony, and a need for faith, where each track represents a different response to growing up: some build an armor (Carro Armato), others turn pain into a collective ritual (Bouquet), some defend innocence (Sassolini), and others attack the system with sarcasm (Dissacrante).
Everything stems from a constant tension between fragility and the display of strength — being “at one thousand percent” just to avoid falling apart.
Sonically, the album alternates between stripped-down, confessional moments and distorted, restless outbursts, moving through folk influences, communal choirs, shimmering guitars, and varied rhythms. It brings together arrangements of violins and autotune, acoustic and electric guitars, and 808s in an instinctive blend where organic and digital elements coexist without hierarchy.
It’s a vulnerable and honest album that constantly shifts its skin while remaining true to its purpose: telling the story of identity formation when certainties collapse, when family weighs heavily, when faith falters, and when the world seems to demand that you choose who to be.

DACOTA is the project of Emanuela Luzi, born in 1999 to a deeply Marche-born father and a deeply Neapolitan mother — raised in a liminal space between cultures, subtly contrasting in their own ways. She doesn’t see herself as belonging to a single place, but rather as a lover of love and spirituality, which allow her to travel with both mind and body.
For her, there is an urgent need to tell her story and transform her feelings into music. She works alongside Alberto Barberi, aka Katura, her friend and producer, and made her debut in January with “L’ultima volta,” a track taken from the EP Chiave Vergine, an alt-pop/electronic-folk project aiming to position itself within the emerging scene.
The song tells of a dark moment in her life, where her strength and energy are compromised by her weakest point – herself. The repetition of certain phrases becomes a way to exorcise the fear of getting trapped in a vortex of thoughts that paralyzes her.
Dacota is Emanuela’s alter ego:
“You can be whatever you want, whoever you want, whenever you want,” it tells her — helping her to lay herself bare.
During the weekend there the new night lines are available, to move around Bologna and its surroundings throughout the night (with departures every half hour!).
Get on board the N3 line and arrive at Covo (and go home!) whenever you want, wherever you live.
In this period (and for a long time) it is possible that in this area there'll be construction work that limit the availability of parking spots nearby. If you cannot find a parking space in viale Zagabria, we recommend looking in the following streets: Kharkov, della Campagna, Francoforte, Machiavelli.
