Cari Cari is a duo consisting of Stephanie Widmer (vocals, drums and didgeridoo) and Alexander Koeck (vocals, guitars). The duo lived in London, Hamburg and Madrid before releasing their debut album “Anaana.” Described as “the love child between The Kills and The xx” (IndieShuffle, US), with “the rough grit of a Cat Power record” (BestBefore, AUS) and “a dash of Ennio Morricone” (FM4, AUT). Since their inception, Cari Cari have worked tirelessly to create their own world, taking care of everything in every detail, from music to graphics, from videos to sets. This meticulous attention to detail has earned the band a loyal following; Rolling Stone Magazine called them “the biggest discovery of the Primavera Sound Festival,” their hardcore fans filled 1,000-plus-seat halls across Europe, and their debut album was acclaimed by such publications as NME, KCRW, Rolling Stone, BBC Radio 1, and many others.
Now, the band embarks on a new adventure with “One More Trip Around The Sun.” This new album encapsulates years of exploration, self-discovery and artistic growth. “It is a journey through our universe, a reflection on the world as we perceive it right now,” Widmer explains. Bold, engaging and full of ambition, “One More Trip Around The Sun” invites listeners to explore uncharted territories of sound and imagination, solidifying Cari Cari’s place among the most innovative and fascinating bands of their generation.

Their music—often described as the perfect companion for road trips along coastal highways or across arid deserts—evokes a blend of adventure and introspection. Founded in 2020, the project quickly gained recognition for its immersive and atmospheric sound. Their style combines hypnotic rhythms with rich, expansive melodies, creating soundscapes that oscillate between groove and dream.
