Cinelicious

Cinelicious is a very young film production company that made its debut at the Covo Club in December 2023; this is where it will celebrate its first birthday on Jan. 18 with a big party of cinema, music and immersive installations.

During the evening, the audience will be taken on a journey through time through the history of the Lair, featured in the upcoming Cinelicious documentary currently in the works. In fact, the evening’s proceeds will go entirely to the production of the film.Cinelicious’s is a punk cinema born in a punk club, on the city streets, on dancefloors, on lawns, on sunny afternoons and rainy afternoons in front of the notebook, the camera, the PC and gallons of coffee. In all these walls scattered around the world Cinelicious has hung its manifesto of a cinema beyond the gaze, not a consumer product but a shared experience that mixes different arts and media, blurs timelines and engages all the senses becoming both physical and emotional.

Based on this, the event will open with a screening of Roots, a short two-part documentary about memories, loss and transformation, set around a table and inside a kitchen where the entire essence of a family’s story is fulfilled. The screening will be set to live music by Arktah, a Tunisian percussionist and producer transplanted to Bologna, who will perform an electronic and acoustic live set designed especially for the film. All this will be accompanied by a themed tasting. In fact, a taste of the film’s star dessert will be offered in order to enter the story through taste as well.

Afterwards, unreleased videos of the venue’s most famous concerts such as Franz Ferdinand, XX, Libertines… will be shown on the Covo stage.

It will also be possible to relive the magic and excitement of those moments thanks to immersive video installations scattered around the venue that through a mix of digital and analog screens and cameras will blend the present, the past and the future.

The party will continue with 3 fiery sets:

• P.L.A.Y. Record Selection, a vinyl set with 100% rock ‘n roll and post punk sounds by the Covo’s resident duo.
• Mirka Berlin straight from the Bologna-based collective Mentality brings an unexpected mix of trance, breakbeat, techno, post-dubstep, downtempo, as well as smooth, jungle and twists.
• Under The Bed the all-female duo that sets the bar straight with its acid, trance, hard techno, hardgroove selection.

Also available throughout the evening will be the Cinelicious merch banquet with a line of limited-edition, customizable T-shirts dedicated to the event.
