Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their iconic self-titled debut album with a world tour that will run through 2025 and will touch down in Italy for a concert in September, during which they will perform the album in its entirety along with many other surprises.

An overwhelming mix of experimental pop and melodic, exuberant indie rock, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is undoubtedly one of the most important and influential independent albums of the 2000s. The celebration officially began in November 2024, with the release of the original 2004 version of Heavy Metal, one of the most beloved tracks among fans. This track, recently remixed and remastered, was discovered among the project’s original files and captures what the band’s founder and frontman, Alec Ounsworth, calls “a special moment in the timeline-a group of guys all getting together in the same hotel room and then waking up and going to a real studio (!) to try to create something special, just for the sake of it.”

Few bands can claim to have exploded onto the scene as brightly as Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, but even fewer can claim that their debut so defined an era, marked a historical period, and represented a paradigm shift in the music industry. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah succeeded in all of this and more: not surprisingly, their first self-titled album is still considered one of the most influential and best independent releases of the 2000s.

It will be a leap in time and a unique experience to see them again in Italy, to celebrate live two decades of independent music with a concert that promises to be unforgettable.
