Described by the Irish Times as “raw as a butcher’s cut, and just as fresh”, the Gurriers’ furious combination of punk, noise, alt-rock and shoegaze, coupled with singer Dan Hoff’s socio-political lyricism, was acclaimed on BBC Radio 6Music, Radio United States, among others. Explosive new single ‘Nausea’ follows the February 2023 release of their debut single ‘Approachable’, praised by The Line Of Best Fit as “a post-punk masterpiece”, whilst May’s follow-up single ‘Sign Of The Times ” was described by Hot Press as “just as furious, frenetic and full of passion as their debut”.

The Gurriers have grown to become an overwhelming force on stage. Ahead of their shows at The Great Escape in May, NME stated: “You know something special is happening when a group continues to sell out shows despite releasing just two singles.” While Louder Than War magazine commented on their recent concert at Haldern Pop in Germany saying: “a final show of elemental strength, their set was a mix of abandon and intent, made up of some glorious dark guitar riffs and a incredibly smooth bass, like a pair of conger eels running in the abyssal channel. Along with this, rhythm guitar and drums created a wall of sound as impenetrable as it was fascinating, like a polished slab of onyx singer and we were not surprised by the fact that the audience at the Spiegelzelt moshed as if they had been hit by a tarantella attack. For those who need a more precise reference, they have something reminiscent of the intensity of the Gilla Band, but with a sassy rage, like ‘Jesus Built My Hotrod,’ that’s irresistible.” The Gurriers are: Dan Hoff (vocals), Emmet White (bass), Ben O’Neill and Mark MacCormack (guitars) and Pierce Callaghan (drums).

Opening

Rude Cinno

(ITA – rusco wave)

Rude Cinno were born as a duo at the end of 2019, in the Bolognese countryside. After the release of two folk punk EPs with voice, guitar and ocarina, in 2023 they decided to experiment by building a sound closer to the new international post-punk scene, but fusing it with samples of popular music from Emilia-Romagna and verses in dialect meat sauce. The result is “Bassa Qualità”, a collection of songs that try to combine, both in music and lyrics, tradition with modernity.
