Her Skin – Giungla

HER SKIN is a fragmentary girl: a folk-rock singer-songwriter made of love letters never sent! Her name is Sara and she has a weakness for very sad lyrics combined with delicate and carefree melodies.

Four years after her debut album “Find a Place to Sleep” (2020), Her Skin returns in 2022 with “I Started a Garden”, a project released on WWNBB that talks about the noise and confusion of your twenties and feeling abandoned and increasingly out of place. The writing of new music and new words thus becomes a sweet wait to rediscover yourself and serenity, like a sprout that grows from a seed that you didn’t remember having buried.

GIUNGLA is Emanuela Drei, a musician, producer and sound designer from Romagna based in Milan.

After starting his musical journey with the guitar playing in several bands, Giungla adopted his stage name in 2016 as a symbol of the mysterious and at times “indomitable” nature of his sound: a unique blend of alternative rock energy, pop sensitivity and electronic elements.

Giungla initially got noticed thanks to some EPs and singles which led her to share the stage with The xx, Foals, Grimes and Battles and to participate in some of the most important international live events (SXSW in Texas, Sziget Festival in Budapest , The Great Escape in Brighton and Eurosonic in Holland, to name a few). He has collaborated with producers such as Luke Smith (Depeche Mode, Foals) and Andrew Savours (My Bloody Valentine, The Kills, Goldfrapp, The Horrors).

In addition to her work as a musician, Giungla is also a producer and sound designer and her background allows her to experiment and insert unconventional sound elements that make her music not easy to label.

Her new album ‘Distractions’, produced entirely by her, will be released on November 1, 2024 via Factory Flaws.

Throughout her career Emanuela has collaborated with other artists, both in the studio and as a live guitarist/bassist. In 2021 he followed Myss Keta on tour on guitar and in recent years he has participated in various soundtracks as part of residencies and artistic performances.
Every month he selects music as a resident on Radio Raheem, with ‘Unguided Tour with GIUNGLA’.
