Non voglio che Clara started getting noticed in 2004, thanks to Caffè Cortina, a demo that ended up gathering the first acclaim, leading them within a few months to record Hotel Tivoli, their debut album by Aiuola Dischi / Universal Music Italia. Welcomed by many of the industry press as the best Italian album of the year, Hotel Tivoli is, in the words of Alberto Campo, “a secluded glimpse of life yet open to the world, at the same time provincial and cosmopolitan”. In December 2022, Blow Up magazine included the title track among the most beautiful Italian songs of the 2000s.

In 2006 the group’s second work of the same name was released: an album about disenchantment, non-love and relational anxieties. The album features Alessandro Grazian and Syria among its guests, the latter of whom is credited for the entire song Sottile. In that same year Non Voglio Che Clara they won second place at the Premio Tenco as best debut work. The single chosen to promote the album is Cary Grant with a video created by Mauro Lovisetto.

In the summer of 2007 Non Voglio Che Clara to participate in the show Suppose I was born today together with Ettore Pagliarani, Aldo Nove and Tommaso Ottonieri, creating the music. In the winter of the same year the collaboration with Aiuola Dischi ended with the single published on 7” Bene which contains the cover of the song of the same name by Francesco De Gregori. The same song appears on the compilation With what eyes… attached to Mucchio Extra.

In 2010 Dei Cani (Sleeping Star / Self) was released, the group’s third album. Produced by Fabio de Min and Giulio Ragno Favero (Teatro Degli Orrori), Dei Cani sees the participation of Port-royal, Diana Tejera and Mia Schettini, as well as Giulio Ragno Favero himself. The album was enthusiastically received by the public and critics, finishing at the top of the polls of the best releases of the year in numerous industry publications. After the release of the album, the group’s lineup settled on the current one which sees, together with Fabio de Min, Marcello Batelli on guitars and synthesizers, Martino Cuman on bass and synthesizers and Igor de Paoli on drums. The video for L’inconsolabile is made by Fabrizio Toigo.

L’amore Fin Che Dura is the title of the fourth album, released in 2014 for Picicca / Warner / Sony and produced again by Giulio Ragno Favero, who appears among the guests together with Rodrigo d’Erasmo.

In 2015 the remastered reissue of Hotel Tivoli was released by Lavorarestanca / Audioglobe.

Superspleen vol.1 will be released in 2020 by Dischi Sotterranei / Lavorarestanca / Big Mu and distributed by Audioglobe. Produced by the same band and mixed by Fabio Trentini (Guano Apes, Naked Truth, H-Blockx), the album expands the electronic vein already outlined in the previous album, broadening its stylistic horizons. The tour that followed the making of the album was canceled due to the lockdown, while at the end of the year the album won the Rock Targato Italia award as best album of the year.

In 2021 the remastered version of Non Voglio Che Clara is published while the group takes advantage of all the opportunities provided by the d.P.C.M. to return to performing live and to record the material that will make up the new album, whose release is scheduled for autumn 2023. Lucio, one of the songs from the new album, was chosen by director Francesco Sossai as the soundtrack to the film “Enrico’s Birthday”, presented at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in the Quinzaine de Cinéastes section.
