Dark glamor and twisted romance, high fashion and emotional voyeurism: welcome to the glittering and always surprising world of COUCOU CHLOE, where sinuous and relaxed rhythms rub shoulders with wedding dresses and floral bouquets, and futuristic and hostile sounds are thrown out of place during moments of shocking lyrical intensity.
Her latest EP ‘One’ represents another quantum leap for the critically acclaimed artist and producer, a sonic hide-and-seek that conceals as much as it reveals. Ping ponging from the sheer euphoria of “WIZZ” to the unbridled, frustrated rage of “FREEZE,” the EP synthesizes Chloe’s diaristic lyrics into thumping club anthems.
In “ZERO FIVE STARS” Chloe goes even deeper, moving between feelings of doubt and self-hatred like never before – like a PJ Harvey but even more excruciating.
Not to mention the powerful energy of his recent remix of Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love” (contained in “Dawn of Chromatica”) or the haunting, tense and spacious compositions of his first releases… COUCOU CHLOE’s repertoire lives in the most obscure of club music.
Her chaotic live performances have seen her destroy venues on three continents, most recently for Berlin’s infamous Herrensauna and in a special A/V pod for the Sonar Festival. Founder of the influential NUXXE collective alongside Sega Bodega and Shygirl, COUCOU CHLOE’s work has been lauded by the press and the fashion industry internationally, with her being photographed for magazines such as Highsnobiety, i-D and on the cover of L’Officiel Paris. He also collaborates with design brands such as Prada, Gucci and Lanvin.
