“Y” is the Italian debut of Kiwi666, born Roberto Andrés Lantadilla, Italian-Chilean singer-songwriter. After the cassette Wrong Nature (Selvatico Dischi, 2021), which drew on the Anglo-Saxon lo-fi/psych rock world, and the first single in Italian, Hawaii (Collettivo HMCF/Peermusic, 2022), Kiwi666 begins work on his first full-length album in Italian, carried out thanks to the partnership with the cult singer-songwriter Alessandro Fiori (42 Records), with whom he will begin a process of co-production and work on the songs.
The 9 pieces that make up the album were recorded in various locations, from the Modena venue La Tenda up to the Ibexhouse, Fiori’s home-studio. The sounds that accompany the album are varied, from the undeniable influences of American folk rock (Neil Young first and foremost), up to the dazed synth pop a la Talking Heads, linked by the common thread of psychedelia and an outsider taste, between the melancholic and the decadent .
The venture into the Italian language has led Kiwi to a philological work that discovers a series of “founding fathers” of the weirdest and most sui generis songwriting of the Italian tradition, almost always with the common denominator of the 70s: from Lucio Dalla di Com’ the sea is deep, to Paolo Conte between the two decades, passing through Piero Ciampi and Claudio Lolli. The collaboration with Alessandro Fiori closes the circle, who for two decades with his various formations has been carrying forward that vein of psychedelic-tinged songwriting, with echoes of Syd Barrett here and there.
During the weekend there the new night lines are available, to move around Bologna and its surroundings throughout the night (with departures every half hour!).
Get on board the N3 line and arrive at Covo (and go home!) whenever you want, wherever you live.
In this period (and for a long time) it is possible that in this area there'll be construction work that limit the availability of parking spots nearby. If you cannot find a parking space in viale Zagabria, we recommend looking in the following streets: Kharkov, della Campagna, Francoforte, Machiavelli.
