Laurel Canyon is Nick Gillespie (lead guitar, vocals), Serg Cereja (rhythm guitar, vocals), Dylan Loccarini (bass) and Lachlan Driver (drums): a feedback-laden, amphetamine-fueled garage punk band from Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The band has recently caught the attention of a lot of music publications, industry insiders and musicians, including the ever-present Iggy Pop. Iggy performed “Tangiers” (recorded by Steve Albini) from their self-titled debut album released via Agitated Records on his BBC6 radio show in the summer of 2023, following sold-out performances at the Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles during the 2022.

The band’s debut album ‘Laurel Canyon’ received impressive reviews on Mojo, Uncut and Clash, reaching number 36 in the Official UK Record Store Chart; three of the album’s singles received placements on official Spotify and Apple playlists.

After the first LP came a 3-track EP called “East Side”, produced by Gordon Raphael (The Strokes). The new songs, “East Side”, “Garden of Eden” and “Untitled”, amplify their sound with a sharper and more tenacious focus, distorting their personal garage punk sound by adding out-of-the-ordinary aspects (cello and vocal harmonies).

The cover features a found object-style photograph of a Laurel Canyon-branded naloxone spray, used to reverse or reduce the effects of opioids, representing the music within as a blow to the heart of rock’n’roll.

These new songs sound live as if the roof could fly off the room they are played in at any moment. Since the release of their album, Laurel Canyon has been perfecting this new material live (among the songs are some previously unreleased songs that have yet to be recorded for their second LP), playing more than 40 shows a year across the United States for a growing audience, gaining more and more followers on the New York City club circuit and opening for legendary artists such as Lydia Lunch, The Strawberry Alarm Clock and Agent Orange.

The result is a band that performs with militant precision and reckless style, capable of bringing their well-oiled live show straight to the studio and ready for your ears. Laurel Canyon are currently working on their second studio album and are set to embark on their first European tour in November 2024.
