Medusa, released in October, is Queen of Saba’s second album: a new musical adventure in the name of evolution, but always with the same clear principle in mind, that which limits are made to be overcome.

«Medusa is a dancing maenad who invites us into a world outside the binary, where trans joy is celebrated and mental health is not a taboo topic. An acid green and shocking pink world, crowded with silhouetted figures, overbearing vegetation and unnatural acts. Medusa is the monstrosity that stamps and hisses from within us and tries to trace a path never traveled before.”

Aliens in a world that pushes towards binarism, Queen of Saba present themselves with colorful impetuosity to dismantle gender dogmas and explore the infinite nuances of music. Electronic duo with an analog soul composed of Sara Santi and Lorenzo Battistel, they feed on Neo-Soul, alternative R&B, Disco Pop, Hip-Hop and Indietronica influences. They debuted live in April 2019. After the publication of five singles in English, in June 2021 they released Fatamorgana, an album of nine tracks in Italian, and in March 2022 the single “Pesca Noche” in collaboration with Ganoona, a Milanese artist. The duo fits into the independent Venetian context of La Colletta Dischi, a newly formed label of which they are co-founders.

ACQUA DISTILLATA

Distilled water is the moniker behind which Lucia Gatto hides. Melancholic, with a somewhat precarious and naive balance, she writes very small songs that combine fragments of life, bad mood and simple things read in the scent of coffee, whispered in your ear or browsed through Grimm brothers’ fairy tales.

In 2020 he released his first EP “Cerotti”, colored together with Rareş, with the loving help of Nove Cento. Simple and blurry atmospheres, songs to shelter from summer storms. “Gocce” (June 2021), the second work in collaboration with Rareş, collects bottled messages to be left at sea. Electronics mixed with lightness in an environment inhabited by voices, guitars and nostalgia. The latest work to be released by the “thousand little skies” family is “Bolle” (2023).

Songs like flashes of light that mess with the sky, “bubbles” dissects the most intimate and delicate part of the singer-songwriter while always remaining on “tiptoe”.
