The Jackson Pollock are two people who started a band not because it’s cool, but because they feel they can’t do anything else. Known for their fiery live shows, Emily sings and plays (or rather, stomps!) the drums close to the audience with a distinctly personal, never-before-seen style, alternating sweet, melodic, heart-stopping vocal structures with decomposed screams of obsessed, demon-possessed flesh. David, on guitar, fuels her fire by offering powerful and enchanting riffs generated by DIY effects and ancient modified amplifiers, creating an energetic and emotional mix. They grind miles upon miles for concerts, conveying the joy of playing, free-mindedly, outside of any pre-packaged scheme or recipe, living in the moment and the beauty of doing it together.
Their new EP “Not Yesterday, Nor Tomorrow” will be released on March 21 on the Bologna-based Black Stuff label. A sneak peek of the album coming out in September on the German label Rookie Records, showing us that behind the punk fury of their live sets are some great songs… and they’re coming to present their work right at the Covo, in advance!
SO VIXEN
So Vixen is a Verona-based drycore/post-punk band with essential lineup (drums bass and guitar) and dry, rough sounds. The lyrics and singing are intimate and emotional, and the two voices alternate between melodic and spoken word. Influences are those of American 90s punk/alt rock bands such as Sonic Youth, Blonde Redhead, Slint, Unwound. December 2024 saw the release of their first EP Underground, which includes four tracks.
SENZA PALLE
Crossover Rap group formed in Bologna in 2023 with the classic lineup of drums, bass, electric guitar and vocals. Senza Palle brings rap verses accompanied by a varied instrumental influenced by multiple musical genres. It is not Hip Hop because Hip Hop is a serious thing…. It is not your love songs band of choice…. It is not the subliminal message of a fancy dealership…. Society tricks us into smiling while we despair inside, and all that Ballless intends to do is to remind you of that. The group is currently working on its first EP.
During the weekend there the new night lines are available, to move around Bologna and its surroundings throughout the night (with departures every half hour!).
Get on board the N3 line and arrive at Covo (and go home!) whenever you want, wherever you live.
In this period (and for a long time) it is possible that in this area there'll be construction work that limit the availability of parking spots nearby. If you cannot find a parking space in viale Zagabria, we recommend looking in the following streets: Kharkov, della Campagna, Francoforte, Machiavelli.
